El Postiguet Beach

One of Alicante’s most well-known attractions.

Postiguet beach is located in the heart of Alicante city, at the foot of Santa Bárbara Castle and next to the famous promenade, the Explanada. The beach is much loved by Alicante’s inhabitants. Not for nothing, the beach is the protagonist of a popular Alicante song: “la manta al coll i el cabasset, mon anirem al Postiguet”.

The welcoming beach of Postiguet is ideal to take a stroll, for the kids to have fun in the play areas, to sunbathe in the summer lounges, and naturally, to enjoy a swim. The Paseo de Gómiz promenade runs along the beach, with its numerous palm trees and intriguing floor tiles that produce a 3D effect. You can relax in front of the sea, have a drink in the cafeterias and let time pass.

Postiguet beach stands out for the quality of its fine golden sand and calm waters. Together with its easy access to the old city centre, the beach has become an emblem of Alicante city.

You will find areas to play sports, including beach volleyball. Many public and private parking spaces can be found nearby as well as accessible public toilets for the disabled.
