San Juan Beach
San Juan beach is Alicante’s most famous beach, with sands stretching from the beaches at El Campello all the way to the Cabo de la Huerta . This open beach, with high-quality fine sands, is located in an appartment-block area with a wide range of services and businesses. Different kinds of restaurants and beach bars are spread along the beachfront, some of which are actually on the beach itself.
San Juan beach is very close to the golf course called Alicante Golf. There are many public car parking spaces nearby, as well as different sports areas, including beach volleyball, football, windsurfing, etc. You can find various hotel categories in the immediate vicinity.
Accessible beach
The city of Alicante offers an accessible beach service during the summer, with recreational-educational areas aimed at people with intellectual disabilities, as well as a bathing/swimming assistance service for people with reduced mobility. The accessible areas are located on the beaches of San Juan, Postiguet, Saladares-Urbanova and Tabarca Island.

High season (1 june – 15 september):
San Juan I and San Juan II
- From 10:00 am to 08:00 pm: Monday – Sunday
Mid season:
San Juan I and San Juan II
- From 11:00 am to 07:00 pm: Easter from the Saturday before Maundy Thursday to Easter Monday, both included, and the day of Santa Faz.
Low season:
San Juan II
- From 11:00 am to 07:00 pm: All weekends and public holidays between the 1st and 31st of May, both included, and from the 16th of September to the 31st of October, both included. Midweek from 16 September to 30 September.
The beach area consists in an apartment block neighbourhood area with many services and shops. You can find handicrafts, beachwear, toys, accessories and anything you can possibly think of to enjoy the beach. Places to eat, drink and snack can be found along the extensive promenade. There is a wide range of restaurants and beach bars, some are located in the sand and offer delicious rice dishes and delights from the sea.
At night, enjoy the chiringuitos, the beach bars: they offer a relaxed atmosphere and a unique experience.
There are a number of public car parks next to the beach. If you would rather avoid using a car, there is a tram and bus service from Alicante that leave you a few meters away from the beach.
Nearby, you will find a large choice of accommodation as well as Alicante’s Golf course.
