Alicante will take its lifestyle and culinary richness to various Spanish cities with innovative pop-up actions designed to surprise and conquer the public. These unique events will combine show cooking, tastings and activities for all audiences, creating irresistible experiences that will transmit the essence of Alicante. Through the discovery of authentic flavours and the creativity of its gastronomy, Alicante will be presented in a dynamic format, close and full of charm.

Alicante, International Gastronomic Destination

Alicante will export its essence and light to strategic European cities with a high potential for growth in demand. To this end, it will organise events that will include exciting live show cooking, irresistible tastings of Alicante products and promotional activities aimed specifically at professionals in the sector. A unique experience designed to transmit the authenticity and charm of Alicante’s gastronomy in the heart of Europe.

Positioning the Gastronomic Product

Alicante will highlight its culinary potential and gastronomic wealth on key national and international stages. This includes show cooking, tastings, presentations, and samplings of products with the Alicante Designation of Origin, as well as internationally renowned gastronomic events aimed at both the general public and specialized critics to highlight the excellence of its cuisine.

Alicante, Center of Spanish Gastronomy

Alicante’s restaurants will create four exclusive menus, one for each season of the year, under the name ‘Alicante Spanish Capital of Gastronomy’. The aim of this initiative will be to promote local and seasonal products, as well as to give visibility to the Alicante hotel and catering industry, in close connection with the celebration of the gastronomic capital.
The programme will culminate with a major competition among the participating establishments, in which the winners of the year will be recognised in different categories, highlighting their creativity and commitment to local gastronomy.

Alicante, City of Rice Competition

Forty restaurants have joined the event, organised by the Alicante City Council, which will offer a special menu with rice as the main dish.

Spoon menus in the city of Alicante, from 13 February to 2 March 2025.

Spoon dishes are the order of the day. A new day of these delicacies is presented in Alicante, to promote the gastronomic capital and to delight citizens and visitors with proposals that take gastronomy to the highest level.
The participating establishments offer customers a menu featuring a spoon dish prepared from the recipe book or typical product of Alicante’s gastronomy. All this, a specific proposal created ‘ad hoc’ for these days of spoon, from 20 euros, to promote local gastronomy as a sign of identity.

Alicante Gastronomic Capital Menu

As part of the Alicante City Awards for Commerce and Hospitality, which are designed to select the best menu for “Alicante, the Spanish Capital of Gastronomy” and created to commemorate the city’s recognition as the gastronomic capital, establishments will prepare a menu featuring unique, high-quality Alicante products.

The jury will award recognition based on the originality, design, and presentation of the dishes, as well as the menu’s notoriety and popularity. The first winner will commit to maintaining the menu in their establishments until the end of 2025, and the second and third-place winners will extend their commitment for a period of six months.

Meeting of suns and stars Starlight in Tabarca

The event will bring together Michelin-starred and Repsol Sun-winning chefs for a unique evening on the iconic island of Tabarca. This unforgettable evening experience will include a dinner under the stars, prepared by local chefs using sustainable and locally sourced produce.

The evening will also include talks on marine conservation during a guided tour of the island and astronomical observation, highlighting the deep connection between gastronomy, sustainability, and the natural beauty of this extraordinary destination.

The event will generate original and engaging content to promote Tabarca’s culinary richness and the talent of its creators, positioning the island as a benchmark for sustainability and gastronomic excellence.
