‘Taberneros Route’ Alicante

From October 20 to November 15, 2025, Alicante revives the spirit of its old taverns with a gastronomic route in which 23 bars and restaurants in the city will serve tapas paired with DO Alicante wines. 23 bars and restaurants in the city will serve tapas paired with DO Alicante wines. Each offering will bear the name of a historic tavern from the 17th and 18th centuries, paying homage to Alicante’s wine-making tradition. This initiative is being held as part of the international conference “Alicante, historic wine capital of the Mediterranean”, which will take place from October 29 to 31 at the MARQ, when Alicante holds the title of Spanish Capital of Gastronomy 2025.
