Virgen del Carmen Festivities
In the month of July, the Tabarca island experiences an emotional celebration with the traditional maritime pilgrimage in honour of the Virgen del Carmen, coinciding with the tourist season. This festivity combines the solemnity of religious ceremonies with the joy of summer.
On 16 July, the image of the Virgin is carried by boat in a procession laden with symbolism, while those attending throw flowers into the sea in homage to the sailors who have lost their lives. Marian songs and prayers fill the atmosphere with spirituality and emotion.
