Silk
In ‘Silk’, Iván Pérez finds inspiration in the history and texture of silk, creating a work of great delicacy and sensuality. The dancers’ bodies glide with elegance and synchronicity in silk costumes created especially for this piece by fashion designer Alejandro Palomo. Yoko Seyama’s scenography is presented as a space of transformation, where the dancers are driven by an original composition, as meditative as it is rhythmic, created by Miguelángel Clerc Parada. Thus, all the artistic elements are sinuously interwoven, building a refined choreographic and aesthetic fabric.
The company Dance Theatre Heidelberg stands for contemporary aesthetics and an integrative way of working within the German rural, urban and state theatre scene. The company’s repertoire includes several creations by Iván Pérez – often in collaboration with the Heidelberg Philharmonic Orchestra and other departments of the company – and works commissioned from international guest choreographers.
A space as a generating field, a connective tissue that is woven as a visual testimony of the lived and experienced landscape. A poetics of space that stops the flow of time. A wave of pure dance and pure sound, a vortex of vital energy.
