San Juan Bonfires 2026: Dance of Alicante, International Folk Parade and Mascletà

On the eve of St John’s Day, Alicante becomes a melting pot of cultures, music and traditions during its Hogueras de San Juan

• Date: Tuesday, 23 June 2026

• Programme and Timetable:

  • 12:00: Flower Offering Awards Ceremony

  • 13:00: Gigantes y Cabezudos Group (traditional parade).

    • Route: Calle de Altamira, Rambla de Méndez Núñez and Avenida de Alfonso X El Sabio.

  • 14:00: 6th Session of the Mascletás Competition in Plaza de los Luceros, set off by Pirotecnia Hermanos Ferrández.

  • 19:00: Dance of Alicante around the Official Bonfire, located in Plaza del Ayuntamiento.

  • 20:00: International Folk Parade.

    • Official route: Avenida de Alfonso X El Sabio, Rambla de Méndez Núñez, Calle de Rafael Altamira, ending at the Plaza del Ayuntamiento.

  • 10.00 pm: Street parties in Barracas and the festival areas of the committees.
