Fiestas en Honor a San Pedro y San Pablo de Tabarca

Every year, Tabarca Island comes alive with the Fiestas in Honour of St. Peter and St. Paul, a tradition deeply rooted in the local culture. Saint Peter, the patron saint of fishermen, and Saint Paul, one of the most influential apostles of Christianity, are essential figures for Tabarquinos.

The celebration becomes a link to the history and seafaring traditions of the island, attracting visitors who wish to participate in this unique festivity. One of the highlights is the seafaring procession, where the image of San Pedro is carried in a decorated boat, followed by a flotilla of boats. This water parade honours the saint and reinforces the community’s connection to the sea.

The festivities continue with live music, traditional dancing and a fireworks display that lights up the night sky.

Saturday 28th June

10:00 h. Despertà.
12:30 h. Parade with big-heads through the village.
18:30 h. Inflatables and snack in the Plaça Gran.
21:00 h. Proclamation of Fiestas 2025, by Andrea González López.
Presentation and appointment of the town councillors. Followed by a performance by the group ‘El Muerto Rafa y La Casualidad’.
23:30 h. Popular Verbena in the Plaça Gran.
24:00 h. Fancy dress parade (starting at the gate) and prize-giving ceremony.

Sunday 29th June

10:00 h. Despertà.
12:30 h. Reception of the Band by the Festivities Commission.
13:00 h. Parade and ringing of bells in honour of St. Peter and St. Paul.
14:00 h. Popular street market in Plaça Gran.
17:00 h. Chained mascletà (fireworks display) by the Reina Mayor.
18:00 h. Afternoon entertainment in Plaça Gran.
20:30 h. Salsa, merengue and bachata classes, enlivened by Tania and Massi.
21:30 h. Concert of charges by the Band of Music and the Commission.
23:45 h. Solemn Mass followed by Procession.
23:30 h. Popular Verbena in the Plaça Gran.

Monday 30th June

10:00 h. Despertà and parade led by Diego Santacreu.
12:00 h. Parade and visit to the Beach Restaurants.
18:00 h. Children’s games and snack.
20:00 h. Departure of the charges from the Portal accompanied by the Band and the Commission.
20:30 h. Solemn Mass and Procession in honour of the Purísima.
23:00 h. Popular Verbena by the Band of Music.
