Easter Week

Easter Week in Alicante, is a unique celebration that fuses tradition and religious devotion with the seafaring and Mediterranean character of the city. Alicante’s special light turns each procession into an unforgettable visual experience, with the sea as a silent witness, adding a distinctive touch to this celebration.

Fiesta of National Tourist Interest
Since 2022, Alicante’s Easter Week has been recognised as a Fiesta of National Tourist Interest, a reflection of the effort and dedication of all those who make it possible. During these days, the old part of the city, the streets in the centre and near the port and the light of the Mediterranean sunset create images that remain engraved in the memory of all those who experience it.

Around 30 brotherhoods and confraternities work throughout the year to prepare these days, making the processions spectacular and deeply moving. Bands of music accompany the religious images, while flowers, candles and candles light up the streets. Each procession is a parade of art and emotion, where the religious carvings, many of great artistic value, shine in an atmosphere of meditation and solemnity.
