Corpus Christi

Corpus Christi is a festival that combines tradition and beauty, which takes place at the beginning of June. In recent years, it has recovered historical elements from the 16th and 17th centuries, such as the installation of altars, traditional dances and the decoration of streets and balconies.

During the celebration, the traditional «nanos i gegants» take place, along with the dances and altars decorated in some streets of the old town. One of the most exciting events is the procession that takes place in the afternoon, when the procession stops in front of the Convent of the Nuns of the Blood, and the nuns sing songs to the Blessed Sacrament. This festivity, deeply rooted in the history and culture of Alicante, offers a perfect opportunity for visitors and locals alike to enjoy an experience full of art and tradition.
