Amae No Kōzō
AMAE NO KŌZŌ explores the intricate dynamics of codependency in human relationships: the longing to be passively loved, seeking the other’s complacency. In search of a better understanding of this human need, the piece also examines how these emotional bonds are shaped by external influences. The performance navigates the tension between moving beyond one’s comfort zone and retreating into protection. By examining a spectrum of relationships, the work uncovers universal threads of codependency, revealing the delicate balance between attachment and autonomy. It delves into the forces that drive individuals to stay together or seek escape, revealing the complexities of human connection and highlighting the personal and collective nature of dependency in today’s world.
