10th Ensolab. Experimental Electronic Music Festival

Ensolab will fill Las Cigarreras with experimental electronic music for its tenth edition, taking place from Thursday 29 to Saturday 31 October, in collaboration with the Department of Culture and the Consorci de Museus de la Comunitat Valenciana.

Electroacoustic improvisation, modular synthesis, generative art, audiovisual experimentation, and diverse expressions of electronic culture.

The tenth anniversary introduces El Secadero as a third stage within Las Cigarreras, brings back artists from previous editions with new projects, and reinforces its commitment to contemporary creation through an open call for artists that received 182 submissions.

This year’s free-admission electronic music festival lineup features proposals from José Manuel Berenguer, BROMO, Alpha Decay + Luisa Madrid, Kosu Nes x Urok, and White Solar Dog, alongside Rare Sessions by Yin Elek, Ximo Noguera, and Fag Hag. This edition focuses on artistic evolution, bringing together artists who participated in previous calls returning with new projects, alongside first-time contributors.

Programme

Thursday, 29 October

  • 19:00: Composer and sound artist José Manuel Berenguer, who participated in the festival’s first edition, will open the event with his latest work.
  • 20:30 in La Caja Negra: The founder of Orquestra del Caos and co-founder of Côclea will present his latest work and an electroacoustic improvisation.
Friday 30 & Saturday 31 October:
  • On Friday and Saturday, the programme opens up to various approaches to contemporary electronic creation, featuring projects where sound, image, and technology maintain a close relationship.

Highlights include BROMO, the duo formed by Paloma Peñarrubia and Azael Ferrer, presenting CRISPR, the pattern of life. The project delivers an audiovisual show combining experimental electronic music, generative visuals, and a reflection on the possibilities and ethical limits of biotechnology.

Another proposal connecting the festival’s history with its evolution is Kosu Nes x Urok. Andrés Satué returns to the festival under his moniker Kosu Nes alongside visual artist Urok. Their work navigates noise, electronic experimentation, and generative processes, exploring new relationships between sound, image, and real-time audiovisual creation.

The live performances schedule will also feature White Solar Dog, a project championing electro through a unique acoustic and stage identity built around sci-fi imagery and cosmic references.

The tenth edition of Ensolab launched a public call for experimental electronic music projects. The selected project was Orden y Caos by Alpha Decay (Amber Laparra) and Luisa Madrid, an audiovisual research exploring the relationships between sound, image, and generative behaviour using modular synthesisers, reactive visuals, and real-time transformation processes.

La Caja Negra and La Casa de la Música will host masterclasses and live performances, while El Secadero joins as a new space for Rare Sessions, as well as a leisure and meeting area.
