Astrotourism and Stargazing at Cabo de las Huertas

Blue Valley Stellar organises an astronomical observation experience at Cabo de las Huertas, where nature, history and the starry sky come together in the same setting.

The tour begins at dusk with a tasting of DO Alicante wine while watching the sunset. During this first part, solar observation is carried out with special filters to discover the Sun’s protuberances and interesting facts about the next solar eclipse in 2026 are discussed. In an area away from light pollution, an astronomical camp is set up, equipped with automated telescopes and laser pointers to explore the constellations. Under the dark sky of Cabo de las Huertas, participants learn how to use tools such as the planisphere and various astronomical applications to identify stars, planets, nebulae and galaxies, as well as learning about the legends that Mediterranean peoples associated with each constellation.

The activity is guided by Starlight astronomical monitors and specialised educators, who combine science, mythology and a connection with nature to offer an unforgettable educational and sensory experience.
