Solidarity San Silvestre Race
One of Alicante’s most eagerly awaited festive sporting events returns this Christmas: the 2025 Solidarity San Silvestre Race. The race, which welcomes participants of all ages and fitness levels, many of them dressed in fun and creative costumes, will take place on Friday, 26 December at 7:30 pm, starting from the Rambla de Méndez Núñez, near the Casa de la Festa. Organised by Alicante City Council’s Department of Sports, the San Silvestre will run through the streets of the city centre along a 3-kilometre route, finishing once again on the Rambla de Méndez Núñez, close to the Portal de Elche.
Registrations, priced at €5 per person, will be available via this link until 24 December at 12:00 am, or until the limit of 2,500 participants is reached. All proceeds will be donated to charitable causes. Race bibs may be collected from the Ciclos Boyer shop (Avenida Pintor Xavier, 10, Alicante) during business hours (10 am to 1 pm and 4 pm to 8 pm), except on race day, when pick-up will only be available in the morning. Minors must present a signed authorisation from a parent or legal guardian when collecting their bib. Pets —properly microchipped— and participants on skates are also allowed, provided they comply with the race regulations.
Prizes will be awarded to the first three male and first three female finishers in the running race. There will also be awards for the three best individual costumes and the three best group costumes (minimum of five people).
The prize-giving ceremony will take place between 8:30 pm and 9:00 pm on the Rambla de Méndez Núñez.
