SAN ROQUE FESTIVAL PROGRAMME – ALICANTE 2025

Thursday, 14 August

• 8:00 a.m. – Collection of materials and installation of the play area in Plaza del Puente.
• 6:00 p.m. – Parade with the Colla el Cocó through the streets of the neighbourhood.
• 7:00 p.m. – Visit to the altars in honour of San Roque (Calle San Juan, Calle Toledo and Plaza del Puente), accompanied by the Rondalla del grupo Cresol.
• 8:00 p.m. – Traditional dances from Alicante and the Valencian Community, performed by the Cresol group.
• 8:30 p.m. – Presentation of the Peregrinas de San Roque (children and adults). Proclamation in the Plaza del Puente by the Councillor of the Alicante City Council, Ms. Cristina Cutanda Pérez.
• 9:30 p.m. – Traditional Picaeta and Baile del Pavo led by Danses Cresol.
  This will be followed by the setting up of tables for the potluck dinner and popular festival.

Friday 15 August

• 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. – Parade through the streets of the neighbourhood.
• 12:00 p.m. – Traditional Banyà and Foam Party and ‘Banyà’ in the Plaza del Puente.
• 6:00 p.m. – Children’s games in the Plaza del Puente. Snack for all participants at the end.
• 7:00 p.m. – Costumed parade simulating a bull run with carts (without animals).
• 9:00 p.m. – Paella contest with firewood (c/ Balseta). End of the contest and exhibition: 10:30 p.m.
  Followed by a popular open-air dance.
  Midnight – Bull run with cart (without animals) in Plaza del Puente. (Please dress for the occasion).

Saturday 16 August

• 10 am – 11 am – Popular lunch.
• 11 am – 1 pm – Parade through the streets of the neighbourhood.
• 8:00 p.m. – Outdoor mass in the Plaza del Puente.
  Followed by a solemn procession in honour of San Roque, accompanied by Danses Cresol and Colla el Cocó (Dolçaina i Tabalet).

• 10:30 p.m. – At the end of the procession:
  Tortilla contest
  Hat contest
  Potluck dinner
  Popular festival

Sunday, 17 August

• 10:00–11:00 a.m. – Community lunch.
• 11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. – Parade through the neighbourhood streets.
• 6:00 p.m. – Children’s games in Plaza del Puente. Snack at the end.
• 7:00 p.m. – Parade through the San Roque neighbourhood and surrounding area.
• 9:00 p.m. – Table decoration contest, potluck dinner and popular festival.
• 11:00 p.m. – DJ contest in Plaza del Puente.
