The Cremá
Alicante’s Cremá is the highlight of the Bonfires, which takes place every 24 June at midnight. After several days of admiring the artistic creations, the works burn in an impressive ceremony known as the Nit de la Cremá. The purifying fire symbolises the renewal and the definitive closure of the festivities. At the same time, the firemen take part in the Banyá, spraying water on the crowds to refresh the atmosphere. This final spectacle combines tradition, magic and a feeling of joy shared throughout the city.
