Extraordinary Christmas Lights Switch-On

Alicante welcomes the festive season with the extraordinary Christmas lights switch-on on Friday 21 November at 7 pm on Avenida de la Constitución, presided over by a magnificent Christmas tree. This is a public event organised in collaboration with local traders’ associations.

Just a few days later, on Sunday 23 November, the Town Hall Square will become a large pedestrian area for visitors to enjoy the Giant Nativity Scene, recognised by the Guinness World Records.

The official Christmas programme will be unveiled this week, together with the inauguration of the nativity scenes in the Town Hall foyer (Thursday 27 November) and in Plaza de la Montañeta (Wednesday 26 November). Alicante is getting ready for a festive season filled with tradition, light and excitement.
