Exhibition “The origins of the Hogueras festival (1928-1936)”.

The Municipal Archives of Alicante presents a unique exhibition that recalls the early years of the Official Bonfires of the city. Under the title “The origins of the Hogueras festival (1928-1936)”, the exhibition offers a careful selection of original sketches, historical posters, photographs and llibrets of the most representative commissions of the time.

You can enjoy works by prominent Alicante artists such as Lorenzo Aguirre, Heliodoro Guillén, Gastón Castelló, Francisco Muñoz and Emilio Varela, among others. In addition, the exhibition extends to the outside of the building through its windows, involving passers-by.

The exhibition is part of the Fogueres Culturals program and commemorates International Archives Day (June 9), thus joining an international celebration dedicated to the preservation of collective memory.

Do not miss this opportunity to discover how our most beloved festivities began, through original documents and pieces preserved in the Municipal Archives.
