Alicante honors the Virgin of Remedio: Dawn and Procession 2025

Dates:

• Sunday, August 3, 22:00 – Concert by the Municipal Symphonic Band in the Town Hall Square (Alborada).
• Monday, August 4, 12:00 – Salute in honor of the Virgin of Remedio.
• Tuesday, August 5, 20:00 – Procession from the Co-Cathedral of San Nicolás.

Where:

• Town Hall Square (Alborada)
• Co-Cathedral of San Nicolás (start of procession)
• Paseo de Canalejas (Arab Souk, open from August 1 to 5)

Description:

• The Alborada celebrates the 75th anniversary of the Virgin of Remedio as Honorary Perpetual Mayor of Alicante.
• The procession will feature the image of the Virgin dressed in a gold-embroidered cloak and skirt and will be accompanied by some 500 people.
• The Municipal Symphonic Band will perform a concert of classical and vocal pieces conducted by Pedro Lara Navarrete.
• The Arab Souk, with crafts and gastronomy, will be open from August 1 to 5 on Paseo de Canalejas.

Access and traffic closures:

• Sunday, August 3, 8:30 p.m.–3:00 a.m.: Traffic closure in Plaza del Ayuntamiento.
• Tuesday, August 5, 8:00 p.m.–10:00 p.m.: Traffic closure and parking ban on Rambla (section between Calle Primo de Rivera and Calle Mayor).
