Due to the various weather warnings issued by the Spanish State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) forecasting strong gusts of wind, some of the events scheduled for Carnival 2026 have been cancelled or postponed for safety reasons. We recommend following the latest updates through the official channels of Alicante City Council.
Alicante celebrates Carnival with a full programme of activities for all ages, filling the city centre with music, colour and tradition. Parades, concerts, children’s shows and popular events make this one of the most eagerly awaited festivities of the year.
The celebrations run from 12 to 22 February, organised by the Carnival Committee ‘La Meka’ and Alicante City Council. Carnival combines tradition, live music, family activities and a spirit of solidarity, offering an unforgettable experience for residents and visitors alike.
