Alicante muffin coca de molletes contest

The coca de mollitas, simple and delicious, is one of the most representative snacks of Alicante’s gastronomy. Made only with flour, white wine and oil, this traditional recipe stands out for its simplicity and flavor. Its versatile nature has led local restaurants to reinvent it: it is served as a tapa with salted meats or sausages, or even as a dessert with melted chocolate.
Despite its culinary value, it remains a little-known gem outside our borders. To put it in the place it deserves, the Alicante City Council will organize the elaboration of the world’s largest mollitas coca. This emblematic event will be part of the activities of the Spanish Capital of Gastronomy 2025, whose quarterly program has been officially presented this week.
