Pilgrimage of La Santa Faz (La Peregrina)
The Pilgrimage of the Santa Faz is one of the most emblematic religious and popular celebrations in Alicante, which takes place every year on the second Thursday after Maundy Thursday. Thousands of pilgrims walk the approximately eight kilometres that separate the Co-cathedral of San Nicolás, in the centre of the city, from the Monastery of Santa Faz, located in a rural area next to the municipality of San Juan.
