DESCRIPTION:Guided Tours: Alicante’s Air-Raid Shelters\nStarting next Friday, the 20th, six guided routes will open to the general public to explore the air-raid shelters and key historical sites of Alicante during the Civil War. These itineraries, designed by the Association of Official Tourist Guides of the Valencian Community, include historical contextualization either at the Interpretation Center or during the tour.\n🗓️ General Public Schedules\n\n\nMonday to Friday: 5:00 PM\n\n\nSaturdays and Sundays: 10:00 AM\n\n\n📍 Available Routes Six itineraries have been designed, covering the eight visitable shelters:\n\n\nRoute 1: Interpretation Center (Portugal St.), shelters R31 (Plaza de Séneca), and R46 (Plaza de Balmis). Includes graphic material, models of the Central Market bombing, and explanations about the exile on the Stanbrook and Marítima ships.\n\n\nRoute 2: Shelters R35 (General Marvá Ave.), R38 (Plaza Músico Tordera), and Central Market (Plaza del 25 de mayo). Focused on passive defense systems and the market bombing.\n\n\nRoute 3: Central Market, Shelters R36 (Plaza Castellón), and R69 (Tobacco Factory). Focuses on human and social aspects, and the role of women.\n\n\nRoute 4: City Hall, MeCID (Discovered City), Calle Villavieja, Explanada, and the monument to Archibald Dickson at the Port. Analyzes urban evolution and various historical conflicts.\n\n\nRoute 5: Towers of the Orchard (Torres de la Huerta), Santa Faz Monastery, and Santa Faz Shelter. Focuses on the agricultural context and experiences outside the main urban center.\n\n\nRoute 6: Shelter R96 (Benalúa Sur), Murcia Station, Port Health Office, Yacht Club (Club de Regatas), and Port.
