DESCRIPTION:Organized by: MACA, Museum of Contemporary Art of Alicante\nCurator: Rosa Castells\nFebruary 20 to May 17, 2026\nSoledad Sevilla [Waiting for Sempere] is a special exhibition in the artist’s career: a project that closes a vital and creative circle that at the same time, is essential for MACA, a museum whose origins are intimately linked to the collection of the Alicante artist Eusebio Sempere.\nSevilla and Sempere met in the 1960s. A mutual admiration and “a deep and cherished friendship” developed between them, as they collaborated on some of the most important projects related to geometric abstraction within the Spanish art scene. A shared interest in line, a rigorous approach to composition, and a shift towards the sensitive—towards a softer, more emotive geometry—connect the work of Sempere and Sevilla.
